Once on board we were cordially greeted and directed by RC
staff. Since we were one of the very
first to board, we were just a few minutes ahead of the 1:00 pm scheduled time
when the staterooms would be available.
Not to worry, we took a few minutes to hang out mid-ship.
At 1:00 sharp, the corridor doors were opened giving us opportunity to drop off
my backpack and Joni’s purse. We then
headed right back out to find lunch. We
got our first look at the Windjammer Buffet.
It was very well laid out with a great variety of salads, cold
sandwiches and wraps, hot-dogs, burgers, chicken, fish, desserts and fresh
fruits. We obviously were going to be
spending a great deal of time here.

CHICKEN / SEAFOOD PAELLA |
The Paella was awesome... one of my favorite things to eat.
Once you have taken a cruise or two, you discover that the
basic layout of the ships doesn’t vary a lot.
There is much that is the same.
However, the designers, engineers, and master shipbuilders who put
together the Jewel of the Seas really knew what they were doing. There was a lot to like about the design of
the Jewel. I will take time in a later
post to detail this, but it was a very simple ship to “learn”.

LATTE-TUDES COFFE BAR |
Each day we would spend a little time at Latte-tudes Coffee Bar. The specialty coffees were an additional cost; however there was no charge for the pastries. The view was spectacular. This lounge was also a WiFi hot spot.

DOUBLE CHOCOLATE ESPRESSO BROWNIES |
While on your cruise, just in case you forget what day it is... No worries. When you step into the elevator, you can see what day of the week it is.

LIBRARY |
One thing that I will note here was that the Jewel featured
some wonderful artwork throughout. It
really was a pleasure. I will post pics later...
